Stipend & Training Grants

The current (2009-2010) twelve month stipend level is $28,533, including support for the summer.

All graduate students are provided full support, including stipend and tuition and medical insurance, as long as they are making satisfactory progress (academic, research and teaching).

This financial support comes from a National Institutes of Health Predoctoral Training Grant in Cellular and Molecular Biology, Cornell University Fellowships, outside fellowships, Graduate Research Assistantships by individual laboratories, as well as Teaching Assistantships by individual departments.

The graduate program also pays the complete cost of student health insurance. Supplemental family health insurance, dental, and vision insurance is also available for the students to purchase.

The Program in BMCB is concerned that students should not suffer due to unexpected financial demands. The Program has available funds to lend students on a short-time basis to cover emergencies.
